MANCHESTER UNITED appear to have a clear path to signing Christian Eriksen after the star’s former club Tottenham reportedly ruled out a move for the Dane.
The 30-year-old made an incredible return to competitive football in January with Brentford just six months after suffering a cardiac arrest for Denmark at the Euros.
He moved to the newly-promoted Bees on a six-month deal and showed he had lost none of his magic as he helped the Londoners secure their top-flight status.
Eriksen produced one goal and four assists in his ten starts and that has led to a host of clubs wanting to sign him this summer.
Both United and Spurs appeared to be leading the chase after reports that the ex-Inter Milan ace had rejected a longer-term package at Brentford.
Now Football.London have claimed that Antonio Conte’s side have “not followed up” their interest in bringing Eriksen back to the club.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also backed up those claims, stating that Spurs have instead prioritised signing a right-back, centre-back and a new striker.
He also added that United HAVE confirmed their desire to bring Eriksen to Old Trafford to the player’s agent.
The attacker will “make a decision soon” over his future after finishing international duty with Denmark last week.

And the prospect of bringing in Eriksen on a free transfer seems too good to refuse.
It was widely-believed that the playmaker was keen to play Champions League football next term and for his family to remain in London, suggesting that Spurs would be favourites for his signature.
However, these fresh reports appear to have rubbished any hope of a romantic comeback in North London and have put United in pole position.
